Talk by Iolo Williams
Thursday 3rd December – Doors open 6:45PM

Iolo Williams, broadcaster and one of the UK’s foremost naturalists, will give a talk about the wildlife of wales and the marches at the Shire Hall, Hereford, on Thursday 3rd December at 7.30pm. Iolo will use a set of species found across Wales and the Marches to illustrate conservation successes in this region of the British Isles, plus highlight new challenges facing nature conservation.
With over 30 years working in nature conservation and broadcasting, Iolo is a regular presenter on Autumn and SpringWatch and S4C. His passion for nature started in his home county of Montgomeryshire, where he continues to live today. A strong voice in the Wildlife Trust federation, Iolo’s passion and energy is infectious. This talk will be a fantastic opportunity to learn first hand his experience of wildlife, plus an opportunity to pose questions to Iolo and colleagues from Herefordshire Wildlife Trust following the presentation.
Doors will open at 6.45pm and Orchard Origins will run a bar throughout the evening, serving local ciders and apple juice, with all profits invested in wildlife conservation and the sustainable management of traditional orchards in Herefordshire.

Seed swap thanks…

Thanks to everyone who made an effort to get to St Weonards Village Hall on Saturday for the Seed Swap! We can’t claim the best attendance ever but considering the weather and the flooding there was a worthwhile chance for people to get together, swap seeds and ideas, sup tea and coffee, buy refurbished tools from Tools for Self Reliance (a very successful day for them by the way!) and just have a chat!

Left over seeds will be passed to Monmouth Transition group for their Seed Swap on Saturday 8 March, 10 till 12 at Monmouth Priory (details here).

Archenfield Seed Swap – 15th Feb 2014

Our 2014 SEED SWAP will be on Saturday 15th February (morning) in St Weonards Village Hall (HR2 8NU). This was a very popular event last year and we expect lots of people to attend. Bring your own seeds to swap (well labelled in envelopes if possible please) or just come and buy seeds at low prices and chat to fellow gardeners. Refreshments, Tools for Self Reliance, Archenfield Transition Group and others will all be present.
